Screening of tomato (Solanum lycopersicon L.) genotypes by inducing systemic resistance against early blight disease caused by Alternaria solani

Early blight of tomato (Solanum lycopersicon L.) incited by Alternaria solani is highly destructive disease in the world. Environmental factors significantly impact early epidemics, leading to loss up 78 per cent production. Twenty genotypes were used this study identify resistant and susceptible selected represent a range reactions when screened under field conditions. The plants evaluated for using Per Disease Index (PDI). Pusa Uphar (20.18%) Sankaranti showed resistance among twenty genotypes. Anaka Kerala (61.25%), Arka Vikas (61.76%), Rohini (53.65%), Ashoka (50.60%) Paiyur1 (56.08%) found based on intensity. Spore inoculation A. was sprayed into plants, it discovered that number defense-inducing compounds viz., total phenols, peroxidase (PO), polyphenol oxidase (PPO) phenylalanine ammonia lyase (PAL) has increased. Among genotypes, (T2) (T1) high level defense enzyme After exposed pathogens through artificial inoculation, activity these defensive enzymes induced sensitive germplasm than control.
